The North Texas History Center is located at 300 E. Virginia in downtown McKinney (just one block east of the McKinney Square and one block west of McDonald Street).
Hours: Monday - Saturday 11 am to 4 pm Sunday by appointment

From Highway 75/Central Expressway: Take the Louisiana/Virginia Street exit off of 75. Turn east onto Louisiana Street (this will take you through the historic district toward the Square). Continue through the two stoplights at the square on Louisiana for one more block, be in the left lane and at Chestnut you will have to turn left as the street becomes two-way traffic. Virginia is one block north of Louisiana at the corner of Chestnut. Turn right and you can park in front of the History Center along the street.
From Highway 380: Turn south on McDonald Street in McKinney. Take McDonald to Virginia (which is one block before the first stoplight which is Louisiana) and turn right. The History Center is at the end of the first block, on the left side of the street.
From Highway 121/Hwy 5/McDonald Street: Highway 121/5 becomes McDonald Street in McKinney (this road brings you just east of the downtown square). If you are traveling north on 121 from Plano/Frisco, you can continue that route to Louisiana Street and turn left, followed by a right turn at the end of one block onto Chestnut. The History Center is on the corner of Chestnut and Virginia. Turn right and you can park in front of the History Center along the street.
If you are traveling south on 121 (McDonald Street in McKinney), after you cross 380 follow McDonald to Virginia (which is one block before the first stoplight which is Louisiana) and turn right. The History Center is at the end of the first block, on the left side of the street.
Parking Parking can be found on the streets in front of the museum or in the surrounding downtown areas.
